FarmMeow

Privacy policy

This page explains what data FarmMeow collects, what it's used for, who can see it, and how you can have it deleted. It's written to match the system as it actually runs — not boilerplate

Effective August 28, 2026

Who controls the data

FarmMeow is provided via farmmeow.com, an app inside LINE, and mobile apps. For personal data matters, contact imkwangkung@gmail.com

Data we collect

  • Account data from LINE — LINE user ID, display name and profile picture. We receive these when you sign in with LINE and use them only to know who owns which data
  • Account data from Sign in with Apple (iPhone app only) — The user ID Apple issues, plus the name and email you choose to share when you first authorize. If you choose “Hide My Email”, we receive an Apple relay address (ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com), not your real email — and we have no way of knowing your real email
  • Email and password (only for those who sign up with email in the Android app) — We store your email as your username, and your password as a one-way bcrypt hash that can't be reversed. We never store plaintext passwords, and no one on our team can see your password
  • Data you enter yourself — Nickname, real first and last name in Thai and English (printed on pedigrees), phone, email and address. All are optional, except when you request a pedigree, for which the association requires your real name
  • Pet data — Name, breed, sex, date of birth, color, microchip number, parent lineage, litter and photos
  • Health data — Vaccines, medications, parasite prevention, drug allergies, chronic conditions, lab results, weight, spay/neuter status, and medical records clinics enter when you grant them access
  • Business data — If you open a farm, clinic or hotel, we store the business name, address, registration number, team members, rooms, bookings, work queues, bills and pharmacy stock
  • Data from PetKit devices — Only if you connect your PetKit account yourself — weight, eating behavior, litter box visits and photos taken by the device, plus the email or phone used to connect (to prefill when reconnecting — no password is stored). You can disconnect anytime
  • Save changes — The system logs who changed what and when, so it can be audited in case of disputes — especially ownership transfers and medical records
  • Profile, diary and stories — Username (@), bio, and the posts, photos, videos and text you share; pets you tag; people you follow and who follow you; who viewed or liked your stories; accounts you block; and reports you submit — location data embedded in photo and video files is stripped on upload
  • Approximate location (only when using stories) — When you allow location access, the app coarsens your coordinates to roughly 1 km on your device before sending them. We use this to determine who within about 5 km can see your story, store it with each story, and erase it when the story reaches 24 hours (including stories pinned as Highlights). We never show your location or distance to anyone. Location sent when you open the story bar or the “Nearby” map is used for that search only and isn't saved to your account. Without location access you can still use stories — they just won't be shown to people nearby (your followers and people who open your profile still see them)
  • App usage data — The mobile app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect aggregate usage statistics, such as screens opened and crashes, to find where the app breaks — not to track individuals
  • Device token for notifications — If you allow notifications, we store a device token used to send vaccine and appointment reminders. Turning notifications off deletes the token
What we don't collect: Plaintext passwords (stored only as one-way hashes) · credit card details · your precise location or travel history · your device contacts · photo library content you didn't choose to upload

What we use it for

Used only to provide the services you request — showing your pet's health book, reminding you before vaccines and appointments, issuing pedigrees, transferring history with the pet when it changes owners, and letting clinics you authorize view its records

We don't sell your data and we don't share it with advertisers

Who can see your data

  • Clinics, hospitals and hotels — They can see only the pets you share individually, and only until you revoke access. Revoke anytime from the pet's page — after revoking, they can still view records they entered, per medical record retention rules, but won't see any new data
  • Transfer recipients — When you transfer a pet to someone else, its entire history moves with it — that's the purpose of a transfer. Afterward, you'll only see the period you cared for it and can no longer edit it
  • Members of your farm — Based on the permission you set — owner, caretaker or viewer
  • General public — Only what you choose to make public yourself, such as your farm page, individual pet cards, and your profile page (once you set an @ username — name, photo, bio, stories and posts set to public). Each diary post can be public or private. Farm pages and pet cards are off by default, and microchip numbers are always partially hidden
  • Story — Your followers and people within about 5 km can see them for 24 hours, and anyone who opens your profile can also see stories that haven't expired — without seeing your location or distance. People you block can't see them at all, and you can see who viewed your stories
  • FarmMeow team — View reported content to check whether it breaks the rules (seeTerms of use)

Third-party service providers

  • LINE — Used for sign-in and sending notification messages. We send only the content needed for the notification
  • Apple — Used for Sign in with Apple in the iPhone app. Beyond that sign-in step, we don't send any other data about you to Apple
  • Google (Firebase) — Used to send notifications to the mobile app and collect aggregate usage statistics
  • PetKit — Only when you connect your account yourself — we pull data from your devices to show in the health book

Photos and documents you upload are stored on our own servers, not with third-party providers

How long we keep it

Kept as long as your account exists. When you delete a pet, its data goes to the trash and can be restored until you delete it permanently. Once permanently deleted, we actually erase the data and photos — they can't be recovered

Stories are deleted along with their photo or video after 24 hours, unless you pin them as a Highlight, which stays until you remove or delete it

The exception is edit logs and medical records entered by clinics, which must be kept for the period required by law and professional standards

Your rights

  • Request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data — most of it you can fix yourself in the app right away
  • Delete your account and all data — you can do it yourself in the app right away. See the steps and what gets deleted on theDelete account page
  • Withdraw consent, e.g. turn off notifications, revoke clinic access, or disconnect PetKit
  • Request an export of your data in a reusable format

Send requests to imkwangkung@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days
